Steam Generator Inspection Tool

The Steam Generator Inspection Tool is a six-function robotic inspection device that mounts on the primary manway to view the primary hot and cold leg nozzle inner radius areas.

This tool was developed to provide more consistent views than those obtained from the traditional hand-held pole cameras.  In addition to the enhanced views, the Steam Generator Inspection Tool allows for dose reduction, as control of the tool is from a clean, remote area.

The tool is lightweight and remotely operated.

The camera is capable of performing a visual examination with sufficient resolution sensitivity to detect an indication as small as one thousandth of an inch (.001) in width.

The color camera is capable of 360° of pan and tilt.  It contains a 10X optical zoom focus lens and lighting.

The control console includes computerized video storage and enhancement, high resolution monitors, audio dubbing, playback capability and the ability to furnish pictures, video tapes and disk storage.
