Funnel Inspection And Welding

The R.O.V. orbital welding head is designed for use with the R.O.V. Guide Funnel Inspection Device.  Its primary function is to perform weld repairs on funnel pins or pipe to funnel joints.  It is also capable of performing remote inspection, grinding and buffing of welds and funnels, resulting in significant personnel dose reduction.

The welding process is automated gas tungsten arc welding (TIG) with automatic voltage control (AVC) and motorized wire feed.  Positioning and leveling of the device is performed utilizing a remote computerized system.  Optics for equipment operations, recording, and inspection of the completed weld are provided.

The funnel inspection and welding system uses a custom control system, which includes computerized control and positional readout of all functions, and automatic leveling of the head for insertion into the funnel.

PLEASE NOTE:

The above welding system is highly specialized in its intended application.  It may be suited for other applications, however some retrofit accessories may be required.  R.O.V. remains available and ready to discuss specific customer robotically assisted welding needs.  Custom designed computer-operated weld heads for any application can be designed and manufactured.
